The Andhra Pradesh Forest Department’s proposal to develop eco-tourism at Vanjangi and Madagada in Araku Valley has raised concerns among local tribal communities. These areas, known for their scenic sunrise viewpoints, have been minimally developed by locals over the past six years. The new plan, which includes a ₹50 lakh community-based eco-tourism project, has led to protests from villagers fearing displacement and loss of income. A crucial meeting to address objections is scheduled for October 10 at the Paderu Forest Range Office.
